A light but very deep vibroacoustic bowl for individual sound massage sessions and specific work with Sound Vibration on the body.
With its 21/22 cm diameter, approximate weight of 1.2 kg, and low fundamental range of 100–130 Hz, this model already reaches a much deeper vibratory zone than the previous size. It remains easy to handle, but the body perception becomes clearly more expansive, making it one of the most practical bowls in the series for sound massage.
Full product description
A small bowl with a surprisingly deep range
This bowl belongs to our Vibroacoustic Singing Bowls – Somatic Series, a line selected for individual sessions and for specific work with Sound Vibration on the body.
One of the key qualities of the Somatic Series is that these bowls are lighter than the Jambati models, yet they can reach much lower frequencies in smaller sizes. That makes them especially valuable in sound massage, where the weight of the bowl plays an essential role in real practice.
The 21/22 cm model weighs approximately 1.2 kg and reaches a low fundamental range of 100–130 Hz. For a bowl of this size and weight, that is already a very deep response.
How the vibration is perceived in the body
As the excitation frequency moves closer to 120 Hz, the wavelength becomes longer and the vibration is perceived in the body in a more expansive way. As it moves closer to 250 Hz, the sensation tends to remain more localized.
That is why this 21/22 cm Somatic bowl already offers a clearly broader body perception than the 20/21 cm model. The vibration is no longer felt only as a precise local point. It begins to open more fully through the body, while the bowl still remains light and easy to manipulate.
A lighter alternative to a larger Jambati bowl
In terms of low range, this model corresponds approximately to a Jambati 25/26 cm, and in practice it can even approach part of the response of a Jambati 27/28 cm.
The practical difference is very important: the Somatic bowl reaches that vibratory depth with a smaller and lighter bowl. This is exactly what makes the Somatic Series such an essential tool for sound massage. It allows the practitioner to work with deeper body perception without immediately moving into a heavier format.
A bowl for focused vibroacoustic work
This bowl is selected exclusively for individual sessions and for specific work with Sound Vibration. It is not recommended for group Sound Healing sessions or for yoga practices, unless the intention is to work directly with vibration on the bodies of the participants.
It can also be used in hand for what we call the sound bath technique: the projection of sound onto the body without direct contact. This should not be confused with a group sound bath experience. In this case, the bowl is used to direct sound close to the body in a focused way.

FAQ
How does the vibration of this bowl feel in the body?
This bowl already produces a clearly more expansive body perception than the previous size. Because its low range moves closer to 120 Hz, the vibration is no longer felt only as a localized point. It begins to spread more broadly through the body.
Why is this bowl especially effective for sound massage?
This bowl is especially effective for sound massage because it combines a very low vibratory response with a light and manageable weight. In practice, that means deeper body perception without needing a larger and heavier bowl.
What is the practical difference between this Somatic bowl and the Jambati Series?
In terms of low range, this bowl corresponds approximately to a Jambati 25/26 cm, and in practice it can approach part of the response of a Jambati 27/28 cm. The difference is that the Somatic bowl achieves that with less size and less weight.
The Somatic Series is more specifically focused on bodywork and sound massage, while the Jambati Series is more symphonic and more versatile outside direct body application.
Are all 21/22 cm bowls on the market suitable for sound massage?
No. Not every bowl of this size is suitable for sound massage.
Singing bowls produce several notes at the same time, and it is the lowest note that generates the perception of vibration in the body. Many bowls may produce a low tone when struck with a mallet, but when they are rubbed with a leather-covered stick, that low tone does not always respond with enough strength.
That is why size alone is not enough. In this collection, we make a careful selection to ensure that each bowl offers the vibratory and sound quality required for direct vibroacoustic work on the body.
Is this bowl only for direct contact on the body?
It is selected mainly for direct work on the body, but it can also be used in hand for what we call the sound bath technique: the projection of sound onto the body without direct contact. This should not be confused with a group sound bath experience. In this case, the bowl is used to direct sound close to the body in a focused way.
Can this bowl be used for group Sound Healing sessions?
This bowl is not recommended as a general instrument for group Sound Healing sessions or yoga practices. However, it can be used in group work when the practitioner holds the bowl in the hand and projects the sound close to the participants’ bodies in a focused way..
