Profound, spacious, and highly resonant, our Large Size Singing Bowl 35/36 cm belongs to the larger end of our Sound Bath & Meditation selection.

At this size, the bowl offers a broad and immersive sound field, long sustain, rich overtone development, and a strong sense of tonal support in the space. Compared with smaller and medium bowls, it produces a deeper and more enveloping sound, making it especially valuable in settings where the bowl needs to project clearly and help sustain the overall atmosphere of the session.

This is an excellent choice for practitioners who want a bowl with enough presence to function as a central instrument within a set or to create a strong sonic foundation on its own. It works especially well in group Sound Bath settings, meditation, yoga classes, concerts, and sound-based sessions where a fuller, slower, and more grounded sound is desired.

Within a set, this size helps anchor the lower register and adds weight, continuity, and spaciousness to the overall sonic field. Used on its own, it can already offer a rich and expansive listening experience, particularly in personal practice or in individual sessions where a more immersive sound environment is needed.

Because each handcrafted bowl is unique, individual pieces may vary in thickness, tonal response, and vibrational behavior. Bowls in this size range often produce a clearly deep tone and may fall within a vibroacoustic frequency range. However, this bowl has not been selected for direct sound massage on the body.

This bowl has been selected by Jorge Zain for its acoustic behavior and for the practical role it can play in meditation, Sound Bath work, and sound-based session settings. Like all our bowls, it is handcrafted using traditional forging and hammering techniques, which gives each piece its own sonic character.

What is the best way to use this bowl?

This size is especially useful when the goal is to bring depth, sustain, and strong spatial support into the session.

It can work beautifully as a standalone bowl for personal meditation or spacious individual sessions, and it is also highly effective in group Sound Bath settings, yoga classes, concerts, and larger sound environments where a bowl with more projection and tonal weight is needed.

Within a larger set, it helps stabilize the lower range and creates more continuity between medium bowls and the deepest supporting tones.

Can this bowl be used on the body?

This bowl produces a clearly deep sound and may fall within a vibroacoustic frequency range. However, due to the size and weight of the instrument, we do not recommend placing it directly on the body.

This size corresponds to what many practitioners would consider a giant singing bowl. In individual sessions, it can still be used very effectively near the middle or lower area of the body — for example, close to the hips or between the legs — without resting it on the person.

Its role within our Sound Bath & Meditation collection is to provide depth, projection, sustain, and tonal support in the space, rather than to be used as a bowl for direct sound massage.

If you are looking for bowls specifically selected for direct application on the body, we recommend our Vibroacoustic Singing Bowls for Sound Massage collection.

How do I choose the right size?

Choosing the right size depends on the role you want the bowl to play in your practice.

Smaller bowls usually bring brightness, agility, and detail. Medium bowls often offer a balanced relationship between clarity, sustain, and presence. Large bowls such as 35/36 cm are generally chosen for their deeper tone, broader projection, longer sustain, and stronger ability to support the sound field.

This size is especially suitable if you want a bowl with a more grounded, spacious, and immersive character, whether for standalone use or as a foundational element within a larger set.

Are larger bowls always better?

A larger bowl is not necessarily better. It simply offers a different kind of sound, a different physical presence, and a different practical function.

Some practitioners prefer smaller bowls for their precision, brightness, and ease of movement. Others choose larger bowls for their depth, sustain, broader projection, and stronger ability to support the atmosphere of a session.

This 35/36 cm bowl can be especially valuable for practitioners who want a more spacious and foundational sound, whether for group Sound Bath work or for individual sessions where the bowl is placed near the body, but not directly on it.

What matters is not choosing the biggest bowl, but choosing the bowl that best fits your way of working, the setting in which you practice, and the kind of sound field you want to create.
