Full product description

A light bowl with a deeper body response than its size suggests

This bowl belongs to our Vibroacoustic Singing Bowls – Somatic Series, a line selected for individual sessions and for specific work with Sound Vibration on the body.

One of the defining qualities of the Somatic Series is that these bowls are lighter than the Jambati models, yet they can reach much lower frequencies in smaller sizes. That makes them especially valuable for sound massage, where weight is a fundamental factor in practice.

The 20/21 cm model weighs approximately 1.1 kg and reaches a low fundamental range of 130–165 Hz. In practical terms, this means a bowl that remains light and manageable, while already offering a deeper vibratory response than many bowls of similar size.

How the vibration is perceived in the body

The lower the frequency, the longer the wavelength and the more expansive the vibration tends to feel in the body. The closer a bowl moves toward 250 Hz, the more the vibration is usually perceived as localized. The closer it moves toward 120 Hz, the more the sensation begins to open and spread.

For that reason, this 20/21 cm Somatic bowl already offers a body perception that is not limited to a single point. The vibration is still clear and precise, but it begins to feel broader and deeper than what is usually expected from a bowl of this size.

A lighter alternative to a larger Jambati response

In terms of low range, this model can be compared to the Jambati 22/23 cm and even approaches part of the range of the Jambati 24/25 cm. The practical difference is that the Somatic bowl reaches that kind of body response with less weight and in a smaller format.

That is one of the reasons why the Somatic Series is such an important tool for sound massage: it allows the practitioner to work with a bowl that is easier to handle without giving up the depth of vibration needed for effective body application.

A bowl for individual work

This bowl is selected exclusively for individual sessions and for specific work with Sound Vibration. It is not recommended for group Sound Healing sessions or for yoga practices, unless the intention is to work directly with vibration on the participants’ bodies.

It can also be used in hand for non-contact sound projection on the body, both in 1:1 sessions and in focused group settings, as long as the practitioner projects the sound close to each participant rather than using the bowl as a general room-filling instrument.

FAQ

How does the vibration of this bowl feel in the body?

This bowl produces a vibration that is still clear and focused, but no longer feels only like a very localized point. Because its low range already moves closer to 120 Hz than to 250 Hz, the body begins to perceive the vibration in a more open and expansive way.

Why is this bowl so useful for sound massage?

This bowl is especially useful for sound massage because it combines two practical advantages at the same time: low weight and a deep vibratory response. That means you can work with a bowl that is easy to handle, while still delivering the kind of body perception that is needed in direct vibroacoustic application.

What is the practical difference between this Somatic bowl and the Jambati Series?

This Somatic bowl reaches a low range comparable to the Jambati 22/23 cm, and even approaches part of the Jambati 24/25 cm range, but with a lighter bowl.

In practice, that means you get a deeper body response without needing the size and weight usually associated with a Jambati bowl in that range. The Somatic Series is more specifically focused on bodywork, while the Jambati Series is more symphonic and more versatile outside direct body application.

Is this bowl only for direct contact on the body?

It is selected mainly for direct work on the body, but it can also be used in hand for what we call the sound bath technique: the projection of sound onto the body without direct contact. This should not be confused with a group sound bath experience. In this case, the bowl is used to direct sound close to the body in a focused way.

Can this bowl be used for group Sound Healing sessions?

This bowl is not recommended for group Sound Healing sessions or general yoga practices, unless the intention is to work specifically with vibration on the bodies of the participants. Its main purpose is individual work and specific vibroacoustic application.
