Short product description

A low-range somatic bowl for individual sound massage and deep work with Sound Vibration on the body.

With its 25/26 cm diameter, approximate weight of 1.75 kg, and low fundamental range of 80–115 Hz, this model moves into a very deep vibratory zone while still remaining noticeably lighter than a Jambati bowl with a comparable body response. It is a powerful choice for practitioners who want broad, immersive vibration without moving into a heavier format.

Full product description

A deeper Somatic bowl with broad body perception

This bowl belongs to our Vibroacoustic Singing Bowls – Somatic Series, a line selected for individual sessions and for specific work with Sound Vibration on the body.

What defines this series is its ability to reach very low frequencies in lighter bowls. In sound massage, that matters a great deal, because the weight of the bowl changes the way the work can be applied in practice.

The 25/26 cm model weighs approximately 1.75 kg and reaches a low fundamental range of 80–115 Hz. At this point, the bowl already enters a very deep zone of body perception and delivers a more immersive vibratory response than the previous sizes in the series.

How the vibration is perceived in the body

As the excitation frequency approaches 120 Hz, the wavelength becomes longer and the vibration is perceived in a more expansive way. As it approaches 250 Hz, the effect is felt in a more localized way.

Because this bowl moves into the 80–115 Hz range, the body tends to perceive the vibration as broader, deeper, and more enveloping. The sensation is no longer mainly concentrated in a precise point. It opens more fully through the body and gives a stronger sense of depth in direct application.

A lighter alternative to a very low Jambati response

In terms of low range, this model corresponds closely to a Jambati 30/31 cm. The practical difference is that the Somatic bowl can reach that type of body perception with less size and less weight.

That makes this model especially valuable for sound massage. It allows the practitioner to work with a bowl that already produces a very deep vibratory response, while remaining lighter and more manageable than the Jambati equivalent.

A bowl for direct and focused work

This bowl is selected mainly for individual sessions and for specific work with Sound Vibration on the body. It is not recommended as a general instrument for group Sound Healing sessions or yoga practices, unless the intention is to work directly with vibration on the bodies of the participants.

It can also be used in hand for what we call the sound bath technique: the projection of sound onto the body without direct contact. This should not be confused with a group sound bath experience. In this case, the bowl is used to direct sound close to the body in a focused way, either in 1:1 work or in group settings where the practitioner works near each participant.

FAQ

How does the vibration of this bowl feel in the body?

This bowl produces a broad and immersive perception of vibration in the body. Because its low range moves into the 80–115 Hz zone, the body no longer feels the vibration mainly as a localized point. The sensation becomes deeper, more expansive, and more enveloping.

Why is this bowl especially valuable for sound massage?

This bowl is especially valuable for sound massage because it combines a very low vibratory range with a manageable weight. In practice, that means you can work with a bowl that already gives a very deep body response without needing the weight of a much larger bowl.

What is the practical difference between this Somatic bowl and the Jambati Series?

In terms of low range, this bowl corresponds closely to a Jambati 30/31 cm. The main practical difference is that the Somatic bowl reaches a similar type of body perception with a lighter and smaller bowl.

The Somatic Series is more specifically centered on bodywork and sound massage, while the Jambati Series is more symphonic and more versatile outside direct body application.

Are all 25/26 cm bowls on the market suitable for sound massage?

No. Not every bowl of this size is suitable for sound massage.

Singing bowls produce several notes at the same time, and it is the lowest note that generates the perception of vibration in the body. Many bowls may produce a low tone when struck with a mallet, but when they are rubbed with a leather-covered stick, that low tone does not always respond with enough strength.

That is why size alone is not enough. In this collection, we make a careful selection to ensure that each bowl offers the vibratory and sound quality required for direct vibroacoustic work on the body.

Is this bowl only for direct contact on the body?

It is selected mainly for direct work on the body, but it can also be used in hand for what we call the sound bath technique: the projection of sound onto the body without direct contact. This should not be confused with a group sound bath experience. In this case, the bowl is used to direct sound close to the body in a focused way.

Can this bowl be used for group Sound Healing sessions?

This bowl is not recommended as a general room instrument for group Sound Healing sessions or yoga practices. However, it can be used in group work when the practitioner holds the bowl in the hand and projects the sound close to the participants’ bodies in a focused way.
